I wasn't expecting a promo until Thanksgiving, so I was REALLY SHOCKED and pleasantly surprised to see one EARLIER than I expected.
A few new shots were shown:
- Ryan, Erica, and Hobbes talking outside of New York University and Erica says (in what seems like bad ADR), "She's covering up something big".
I'm assuming that the "she'" in Erica's statement is referring to Anna. The "something big"? I don't know what that is, but I'm sure it has something to do with her plan for humanity :)
- Father Jack coming out of St. Josephine's with a bunch of his parishioners, looking up to the sky.
The steps look like they're wet, so I'm guessing it had been red raining. Sorta looks like blood on the church steps, no? An omen of evil, if you ask me.
I was hoping that at some point, Jack would be leaving the church, but I'm guessing he's still there by the premiere. Maybe he'll leave later, but for the premiere or the first few episodes, he's still an active Catholic priest.
- Erica on the streets of NYC, with people lying on the ground.
If you look close enough, you'll see that Erica is holding something. Looks like a Visitor Peace Ambassador jacket to me. Tyler's?
It's a small touch, but I love that Erica has her FBI badge on because if she was a super hero, then that would be part of her costume. Being an FBI agent is a big part of her character. Her job is to protect people and for whatever reason in that sequence, she has failed. People have died (assuming the people on the ground are dead).
I'm assuming that this shot is from the opening sequence to "Red Rain" that was shown at New York Comic Con. I've read great things about that sequence from the people who attended the V panel and am really looking forward to seeing it!
- Anna meeting with Visitors in the V-shape.
If these guys are the ship captains, it's not all of them because I counted only 18. There are 29 ships.
Marcus is present.
The Red Sky is still there.
The floor is a different color (brown?), so I'm wondering if it's a different room in the ship?
On multiple listens, I noticed that the dialogue from Anna is sorta choppy, so it's probably not a full thought, but an edited piece of words from ABC. It's not like ABC hasn't done that before. The bad thing about that edited dialogue (if that is, indeed, what it is) is that it's not done very well. Anna says, "Noone comprehend the magnitude of what is coming." Now, maybe she says it like this: "Noone, comprehend...". That makes more sense, but not really. To me, it sounds like the "Noone" and the "comprehend the magnitude of what is coming" come from different moments or scenes. You can even hear the edit point. Slap an audio dissolve on that sucker, editors. :)
The shot of all the cars crashed is really cool. I have to laugh, though, because it (and Erica walking around while everyone is "asleep") reminds me of FlashForward a bit. But, it's not the same thing since the world is dead and not asleep, seeing their futures.
Logo
The V logo on the endpage is changed in color to reflect the Red Sky and it has a sound effect that sorta sounds like thunder. "Red Thunderstorm", anyone? :)
Even the look of the abc.com portion at the end has been changed and has the red clouds in the background. That's pretty slick.
I know...a lot of thoughts for :15 seconds. We still have like, a month and a half people. I will analyze every little detail until I get episodes!
